It’s a combination of many different things honestly. It’s come from little things I like from a number of different styles, but the most distinct standouts (that come to mind anyway) would be:
Scott Pilgrim
Bone
Rocko’s Modern Life
And Crash Bandicoot and Spyro the Dragon
